十月天象
十月把秋季深空场送到中天，带来猎户座流星雨，也让昴星团回归。夜已经长到可以在午夜前完成一次完整观测。
本月天象概览
21 点，飞马座大四边形位于中天，仙女座与 M31 从它东北角延伸出去，英仙座双星团高悬东北。银河从天鹅座往下穿过仙王与仙后，向西北沉去，比夏天暗，但在暗夜仍看得见。后半夜猎户座在东方升起，猎户座流星雨的辐射点就在参宿四上方一点。今年极大期恰逢接近满月，所以流量会在偏低的一端。
本月一览
十月可以干净地分成两半：头十来天是真正意义上的黑夜晚，最后十天则把夜空交给月亮。先从英仙座的双星团入手——晚上九点以后它高悬东天，两个密集的星团挤在同一个双筒视场里。M31 也在附近，暗夜里肉眼就能看到一小团模糊的光；再去找 M33，那才是对天光质量和耐心的真正考验。同一晚把这两个目标对着看，你就知道自己这片天到底能到什么程度。天亮前完全是另一番景象：木星高而稳，四颗伽利略卫星用普通双筒就能分辨；秋季暗夜里，东方常能看见黄道光那束淡淡的光锥。火星在木星下方逐渐增亮。昴星团回到傍晚的东天，月底时大约二十点升起。更好的办法是把夜晚拆开用：傍晚看深空，黎明前看行星，月中那段黑窗口留给一切暗弱的目标。
行星详解
水星在月初有一小段昏现，位置很低，贴着西边——第一周趁天还没全黑就把它找出来，望远镜里它又小又不稳，别抱太高期望。金星在十月中旬前后退出昏空，月底走到太阳合，你一直在跟的这一轮就此结束，之后它彻底不见。省事的是土星：傍晚位置很好，已经过了冲日，大半夜都看得见，中等倍率的小望远镜就能轻松看到光环和土卫六。木星才是本月真正值得做的功课。黎明前它表现出色，又高又稳，正适合从这时起建立固定的观测习惯——先用双筒逐夜观察伽利略卫星换位，再往上加倍率。火星最难：清晨天体，天亮前很久升起，视面小，高倍率才真正值得一试。
流星雨与黑夜窗口
这个月的排期是月亮定的。新月落在十号前后，所以最黑的一段窗口就在那个日期的两侧——而天龙座流星雨恰好赶在它之前的八到九日晚间到达。辐射点在 Draco（天龙座），高挂北天，因此不必等它升起，天一黑就能看。流量通常每小时不到十颗，但这场雨以偶发的暴雨级爆发著称，人们惦记它正是因为这个。猎户座流星雨在十月二十一至二十二日夜间达到峰值，每小时十五到二十颗，辐射点在东南方的猎户座，这意味着要守到午夜之后；十八日的上弦月在凌晨落山，所以后半夜是更好的那半。按照年历的提示，二十六日的满月对猎户座流星雨不利，今年流量预计会明显下降。南金牛座流星雨则以每小时约五颗的速度延续到十一月。
安排你的夜观测
把十月当作两场战役来打。先是傍晚：整个月晚上九点以后，仙女座和英仙座都在东天高处，所以出门的第一个小时就有收获，远远早于月亮成为问题的时刻。第一周提示：让眼睛适应整整二十分钟，遇到暗弱目标就用侧视法。第二周属于八到九日晚的天龙座流星雨，以及十号前后的新月——那是你能得到的最黑的几夜。提示：看流星时人要长时间站定不动，衣服要比你以为的穿得更厚。猎户座流星雨需要耐心：十月二十一至二十二日夜里，午夜之后，辐射点在东南。提示：凌晨两点前后露水会糊住镜片，加个简易遮光罩就管用。到了月底，定好闹钟，在天亮前出门看东边的木星和火星。

- The Double Cluster in Perseus is at its best — two dense clusters in one binocular field.
- M31 and M33 are both high; M33 is a genuine dark-sky test object.
- Jupiter dominates the pre-dawn sky, with all four Galilean moons visible in binoculars.
- The Pleiades return to the eastern evening sky, rising around 20:00 by month's end.
- The zodiacal light is often visible in the east before dawn from dark sites in autumn.

野外提示
